This is a charitable community-based organization focused to create opportunities for a better life for the children orphaned or left vulnerable due to crime and HIV/AIDS in the slum of Soweto- Nairobi, Kenya.
Emmanuel Hope Centre has been in existence for the last 10 years- Started by a single mother, it was an outcome of a bitter inner conflict between choosing to stand by and watch or doing something. Jane was initially a hawker, she sold her wares in the streets of Nairobi and it’s here where she came in contact with the street children. Her long engagement and interaction with street children led her to initiate this project
Madam Jane is the founder of the organisation.With the ongoing crisis of orphaned children in kenyan slums,she could no loger wait to see things get worse and took it upon herself to give hope to this disadvantaged children.Initially she set up a community to help the disadvantaged which eventualy ended up to become a childrens home and a rescue centre.She ensures the children receive care like other children and go to school when they reach of age.
Joseph kagai is the Director of the named organisation.He has a bachelor in social work and is extremely passionate about empowering his community and has helped many disadvantaged children get hope again by actively ensuring they get education and a home.He is also invelved in other organisation that empower the society in other ways.
E.N.H.C.R. is a registered non-profit welfare organization. The finances required to running the of the centre are entirely donated by well-wishers and supporters.
